A week to live healthily; what would you do?

When I thought of that question one thing sprang into my mind instantly, a parachute jump!

When I was a child my grandpa said 'What's your ambition?' and I didn't have any at that tender age so I blurted out 'I want to do a parachute jump'.

I still do, I can imagine that feeling of soaring down to earth with nothing but a parachute, seeing everything!

What would you do?

      Hehehe you're so funny! lol

My friend Roger, who had ME, said he knew he was getting better when he was able to make love to his wife again. And it must have been really good rogering because he's called Roger! lol

its nice to know that some people get better from ME.

iv not heard of anyone getting better with fibro except

      with expensive courses eek

To add, because most courses work on a major principle and add loads of frills etc so they can charge a lot for it.

mine is going back for a refund ,its just another dissapointment thats all

I came back to add that these people get rich praying on sick people by offering false hopes.

well there not in it to make them self poor .

but it only works because people are desperate to get well

if doctors gave more time to patceints and listened more

      people wouldnt be so sick

but it hurts so much ,because if we didnt want to get better

and we were slobs like alot of people think then we wouldnt be trying so hard to get well ,so each time we get a knock back its such a dissapointment its hard to remain positive

Yes, if doctors had more time to give and hours to do research but they don't. I don't blame doctors, apart from ignorant nasty ones, which I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with. cry

like iv said before ,i can remember going to the gp in my youth and mid to late 20s , and before i got to say anything ,the tongue presser was in and i was saying rrrrrrrrrrrh at the same time he would be taking my pulse

then he would stand behind me and feel my neck,

then sit down pull down my eyelids and check my finger nails .

then he would always ask hows your works .

1s and 2s all sounds alot

but they were so expert at it it took minutes  and all of it was a very good indecater of health problems.

    LOL @ Tis!!

Remember Tis, one thing there is no such word as "can't"!!! lol

    1. Cannot Drink (alcohol)

    2. Could probably eat out but, I personally prefer to stay at home to eat.

    3. Sex.. I think that would need "scaffolding" as my wife says! lol I am in extreme pain even kneeling would cripple me, for a week! Stick to a cup of coffee, even though thats bad for me as well.

Georgia, well come back - nice to see you around again! When you mentioned a Parachute Jump, you reminded me of my wife. Even that sounds strange!

For Cancer Research my wife Abseiled off our local hospital tower with her friend, they were both told what to do, but it did not work in practice. lol

First her friend, jumped backwards at 115ft up, reached around 90ft and she shut her eyes, the only problem was her rope twisted and she end up looking at the whole of Gloucester from 90ft up in the air! A guy had to come down beside her and help her down.

Then my wife jumped, she reached about 50ft down then lost one of her gloves, anyway she got to the bottom in the end, but did not land on her feet, she mis-judged the ground level and land arse first!! She was bruised for weeks, and because she lost her glove she rope burn on one hand which was huge. lol

I think we still have photos of that day, it was hilarious! lol

    Regards,

    Les.

Yes it does sound strange, are you thinking of parachuting on top of your wife? lol I hope you have a good aim.

It's lovely to see you too because I was thinking about you early this morning and wondering how you are. razz

So you think two women going through terror and injury for charity is hilarious Les? Ok it sort of is a bit. Hehehe

It was funny at the time, our friend that turned around on her rope was screaming and looking at the whole of Gloucester "A nice bird's eye view!"! lol

Me, apart from being strangled by the Neurology Physiotherapist this afternoon is not too bad. I got to stretch some muscles twice a day for the next week. A normal physio I can tolerate, but a Neurology one works on whole different levels.

I even said excuse me but I cannot do the "splits" at my age!! lol 30-45mins and I'm done for! lol

Wow they're so brave! I scream if I see a slug on my kitchen counter. eek

And you are too with everything you have to endure; medals all round methinks! razz

thats good les . 30/45 mins god would kill me .

It's not exercises I would do everyday. The Neurology Physiotherapist was checking my leg muscles could go before hitting pain barriers. She showed me what I am doing wrong, whether they can correct it after all these years is another matter. Basically, a normal person would put 100% of their weight on each leg as they walked - with me I am putting 90% on my right leg, and 10% on my left hence cause me to become unsteady and fall, because of the pressure and pain in just one hip is wrong. When I use my Zimmer, I am using it wrong, I tend to pull my left foot inwards, and drag it - hence again, causing problems. But this is all down to Dystnonia, basically I must fight to get me legs to work properly,

      Regards,

      Les.

That sounds incredibly complicated to me but I understand in a little way in that if I have to bend down for some reason my legs can't get me back up again without me having something to pull myself up with by my arms on or having someone to get me back up.

George's Annie offtered to help me stand back up when she was here but I said no and reached for something, then let out a beefy wrestler's type groan. Lol I wish I could go back in time and let her help me instead. redface

I know that must be nothing compared to what your legs are like but I'm just trying to imagine it in the best way I can.

i am the same if i get down on my knees  cant for the love of me get back up

unless like you say iv got something to pull myself up on or someone

grunt like a wrestler like some how it helps .rolleyes
