Hi Mema, sorry can't help you. Some other people on the forum will help you. Hope, your surgery goes well.

You mean you don't chat about this down your local pub? Ha, ha! Yes, I have one of these. Quite literally a pain in the backside.. I have had a seton (?) tube stitched in but it didn't seem to do much. Surgeon said that as it's so close to my anus any more surgery could make me incontinent. Nice! Touch wood, it doesn't give me too much grief. Have heard of people having either a temporary Ileostomy or colostomy to give theirs a chance to heal. I had a loop Ileostomy for 11 months but that was due to surgery to remove my calcified ileum. Wasn't too bad (considering I'd put it off for 20 years!) but it made no difference to the fistula as that hadn't has surgery on it beforehand. There's a website called Inspire who have a Crohns Disease forum with people who have this issue. They're a very friendly bunch whose motto is 'no question is a stupid question' so you can ask the members anything.
You say it's your second surgery. It's a bit daunting having to have another one as you have an inkling of what to expect... Do you have any particular worries you'd like to chat about?
I'd like to help but better apologise for my dreadful sense of humour beforehand. I thinks it's what can be described as a 'coping mechanism'!
look forward hearing from you soon!
