I am 17 years old, I had right too abdominal pain for 6 weeks now, it used to be on and off for the first 4 weeks but in the last 2 weeeks it has been constant and has not gone away. On top of that, in the last week my lower back been hurting me too. It's at ease when I am laying down but when I get up, I can feel it bothering me. The abdominal pain is constant and is there 24 hours, it's waking me up from sleeping. I been to the ER three 4 times, 3 times I was diagnosed with constipation but on the last visit, they didn't see much stool in the x ray, my blood test came back clean. The abdominal pain is very sever is making stomach shake as if It has its own beat. The hospital that I went to recommended I take a Zantac but I was so worried that it was affecting my sleep so I stoped taking it yesterday. Does anyone know what's going on with my body or can help me please? Thank you, any information is appreciated.

Hi im sorry that you are dealing with stomach issues it can be very frustrating. You may need to go see a GI doctor, someone who specializes in digestive problems, especially if you are constant in pain. I have experienced the shaking feeling in the stomach, the backache also among other weird and frustrating symptons. Mine is due to gastritis ( inflammation of the stomach).

I cant say thats what is wrong with you but only giving you my experience...its best to see a specialist so they can take a look inside of it.

Hope you feel better soon, trust me I know how you feel.

Thank you Mary, I see a gi doctor, she recommended I take benefiber each morning. It is a fiber powder. I have been taking it, however my symptoms did not get better. I'm going to call her tomorrow and let her know what's going on. Thank you and hopefully this is temporary because I am supposed to start college next month but I can't proceed with that due to this pain that is bothering me constantly.

Thank you Mary and I seen a Gi last week and she said I can eat normal . However I feel as if I eat normal my symptoms will get worse. I been eating soft foods such as noodles. I just wish I was able to sleep. The pain is affecting me non stop. Also I start college next month, the way things are going I won't be able to start because I can't concentrate with the pain.

Is the abdominal pain upper right or lower right? And does it affect how you eat? Also are your bowel movements regular?

It's in the upper right and when I eat some foods make me feel gasy and other times it would make me feel full. I have a BM every morning and it's not diarrhea, it's not fully normal but it's mushy.

Have they given you an endoscopy or said your liver and your gallbladder are clear?

They said everything is clear, I even did an ultrasound.

Try a food diary and eliminate the foods that make you gassy or full.  Has IBS been considered?  It can cause back pain.  Does your pain ever move about your stomach?  See a GI doctor.

I started with constipation. constant, 24/7 stomach pain, on off nausea, loose stools     and back ache.  The pain also woke me from sleep and was sore to lie on.  I was diagnosed with IBS.

After being diagnosed with IBS, did you get help? Like did your symptoms get better?

My symptoms improved after diagnosis because my health anxiety cleared up after three and a half months of no answers.  I didn't really get any medical help.  I was initially prescribed Mebeverine which made me much worse so I tried Buscopan myself and it worked.  My symptoms tend to come on if I am anxious.
