Abdominal Pain, Mucus, Diahhrea, Constipation

I have had explosive diahhrea for 17 days with lots of foul smelling mucus. The diahhrea is not constant, usually after food. I have a pain / ache in my upper right hand side under my rib cage for a while.

Diahhrea has now stopped for the last couple of days, still soft and only been once in the last 12 hours although I feel like I need to go.

I went and was constipated, I looked into the bowl to see clear mucus with red blood in it. I have not rectal pain. I am absolutely petrified that I have bowel cancer.

I visited my GP, a stool sample c/s was taken and came back clear, have bloods tomorrow and upper abdominal ultra sound on Saturday.

I have lost 9lbs in 10 days through absolute panicking and loss of appetite.

A few years ago I had a high FCP reading and have previously had a sigmoidoscopy/endoscopy/colonoscopy all clear but this was a few years ago and IBS was diagnosed.

I am absolutely petrified and can't stop physically shaking.

What is everyone's experience?

    Hi Paul I am having similar symptoms to you beside the weight loss but I also have rectal bleeding, I'm only 27 years old I'm an absolute mess that I have colon cancer I have been waiting since October to see the specialist my appointment is on Monday I'm so nervous but also relieved I finally get to see him! Have you gotten any answers as yo what is going on with you?

      Hi Mel,

      As of yet i don't have any definite answers.

      I had an ultra sound upper abdominal on Saturday which was Clear, no gallstones etc. I was up all night on Saturday with pain in my mid left stomach. Went to AE on Sunday and collapsed whilst I was there. They have run another full set of bloods which were clear. I was put on a drip given a course of Metronidazonole antibiotics.

      They said there is no infection showing in the stool or the blood but wanted me to take the course just incase.

      I have been constipated now for the last 3 days only to be woken this morning with terrible cramps...... Diahhrea again!

      I should also point out that my anxiety levels are through the roof to the point where I'm literally constantly shaking and to be honest, I think this is why I'm not eating, hence the weight loss. I'm back to my GP tomorrow for a review and hopefully then I'll finally get referred to a colonoscopy. The doctor at the hospital said the bloods etc were reassuring but if there was still no improvement then she would put in her notes to my gp that a referral should be done.
