Abdominal ultrasound results??

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hello, I am new to this forum so sorry if I sound panicky. Basically my boyfriend had back and pelvic pain and was referred for an abdominal ultrasound. Since then the pain has gone in both his backand pelvis. He had the ultrasound 6 dys ago as it wasn't an urgent referral. However the doctors surgery have called today and made an appointment for the doctor to call him at some point on Monday. They haven't asked him to go in but in my experience it's bad or they would not have called. Also worth mentioning that the tech who did his exam said "just to put your mind at rest I can't see anything sinister" and he volunteered that info, my bf didn't ask. Does this sound bad? sad I'm going out of my mind here.:'(

Hi there, speaking from expierence i've recently had 3 ultra sounds within a month.

While I was there the technician said he could not find anything abnormal and everything seemed fine.

I then had to wait 3-4 weeks for the actual report, which was completely fine and normal. But they do take a long time to get back to you, Hope this helped.

    Alex.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your comment. I wasn't too worried when the tech said that but the fact they have called him after 6 days is a huge concern amd rings alarm bells to me. Will be spending the weekend worrying now. I hate the nhs with a passion.

    You and me both!

But if the tech said it is fine then he is most likely fine, and the call is most likely to discuss different ways to diagnose him, I had a blood test and they called me up two days later saying I have to go see my gp as soon as possible, and it was fine!

In my case, they told me even though i have severe pain, there's nothing wrong with me because the ultrasound said so, then put me on a 3 month waiting list for a specialist! So i share your pain with them

I hope everything gets better! And I hope i've helped
