Ablating the AV node

I have had four ablations and the latest did not work so am now in permanent AF.  My choices are live with an irregular heart beat, doable but I get breathless walking up a hill, or being 100% paced with a pacemaker once they can kill the AV node .  Has anyone had this done and are they happy with the decision.

    my wife had AV node done and has been on pacemaker for 5 years. No problem at all and could not be more pleased as no more meds or incidents.
