abnormal blood test- should i be concerned?

i have had muscular issues for some time, the other day i had a particularly bad episode, i couldn't move my arms/legs. i urinated myself, and was having very bad muscular dysfunction, then i took my blood pressure and my heart rate was 170 so i called the er. i felt like i was going to go into a coma or something and was struggling to keep consciousness
The er did blood work and told me my phosphate was low at 0.55, my white blood cell count was slightly elevated at 14.6 and my lactate was high at 2.5. they gave me something to drink to raise my phosphate and my muscle dysfunction went away over a few hours. the weakness diminished the next day and by the 4th day the muscle weakness had returned.
I went to my family doctor who just said " well i can check your phosphate but i have no idea what to do if it comes back low so i am not going to check it. what should i do? I am getting sick of these doctors and strongly considering filing a malpractice lawsuit against them. I am only 28 years old.

What!! He said he won't check it because he does not know what to do if it comes back low again! That's crazy for a doctor to say something like that... I do not have knowledge in this subject, but I just wanted to let you know that you should ask your doctor to give you a referral to a specialist. If he says no.. find another doctor who will. Remember.. your paying him.. he's working for you. So if you don't like how he's handling your health, you have a right to find one who will. Best wishes...

ikr.... the thing that pisses me off is they gave me stuff to raise the low phosphate at the er.. it helped my symptoms.. then the symptoms returned a few days later because no one would try and find the cause of the low phosphate or even give me stuff to raise the phosphate until they did find the cause. My family doctor did ref me to someone but it takes like 6 months to get in
. The er just said phosphate is in everything so if i am low its related to an underline illness.
