abnormal ekg

Hi, I'm 21 and recently had a ekg due to heart palpitations. In the er they told me I had abnormalities on my ekg. So they hooked me up to a monitor over night. The next day they said everything was fine and I was sent home. I seen a cardiologist and he also did a ekg. He said it was showing "non specific changes". I had a echo cardio gram which came back completely normal. So my doc wanted to compare my recent ekg to a ekg I had last year. He told they were both the same, my ekg I had recently and one from last year. So he said not to worry as this could just be my "normal". Anyone experience something similar?

When I was 17 yrs old I had coartation of Aorta surgery. It's a congential heart defect I was born with but corrected until I was 17. Through the years I have had all kinds of heart tests, ekg, echocardiogram, you name it. My ekg's are never normal due to that surgery. They are always different than a normal person. Well today I went to my Doctor who is an Internist. I got the flu and had some heart papitations but they went away after that. Recently every time I have a little flutter I get very nervous so he sent me to have an ekg which came back abnormal...of course ...
I got a little nervous but then I remembered that my ekgs are always going to be weird. I'm in my late 60's now. I just want to say that anytime you get an abnormal ekg it's always a good idea to have a specialist check it out for you and put your mind at ease. Plus I think the more you think about flutters, papitations etc...you bring them on more and you feel worse.

Hello. I hope everything turned out ok for you! My daughter is 18 and was just released from the hospital yesterday. Very similar situation. The difference is her heart rate is very high, even at rest. Also, besides the T wave inversion her ekg showed incomplete right bundle branch block. And she's been having serious fatigue and shortness of breath. This has been so scary, and my daughter has panic/ anxiety which only makes it worse.
When She was released from the hospital yesterday, after her last test, the echo, was read, we felt so relieved. Then in the middle of the night I'm looking through all the papers from the hospital, and there's one called " discharge instructions for congestive heart failure patients." Omg I'm freaking out!! I have a call in to her primary dr. And the cardiologist who saw her in the hospital as to why they gave me this paper if the nurse told me everything was fine, And just to follow up with her primary. Sorry for the book, but again I hope everything turned out fine for you!!
