about alfuzosin 10 mg again.

Posted , 7 users are following.

I was prescribed alfuzosin 10 mg for BPH symptoms. I tried it for a couple of days and the symptoms improved. Though I suddenly felt out of breath all the time. So I stopped taking it. My retention at night became worse than before.

Has anyone experienced other side effects or have any other comments about alfuzosin 10 mg.

Is it the drug for BPH symptoms with the the least Side effects?

Breathlessness is listed as incidence not known on the drugs website. You could try one a day Cialis as it has better side effects:-)

Derek You probably know the answer to this. So.. there are two main drugs or type of drugs that Urologists wll prescribe right? There's the one that is an Alpha blocker and another one that may actually reduce the size of the prostate after about 6 mo. The latter is what Saw Palmento also may do, or rather the active ingredient beta sitasterols that the herb contains. Do I have that right? My doctor prescribed the shrinkage one for me but I didn't pick up the prescription because I read about the side effects. I've read about the beta sitasterols and that they actually may have the same side-effects as the prescription drug.

I'd like to take Ciallis - its .5 mg a day right? Big Pharma seems to have the patent on that and I don't want to spend the money for possible benefit esp. when cic is working for me.

You are right. about the drugs.

I took saw palmetto in tincture form for years and it helped to a degree. I did not try beta sitasterol but have read reports by people who said it helped.

I twice tried Finasteride but not for long enough to benefit from it as it made me grow breasts until I stopped it. Tamsulosin reduced my started to cause retro and I stopped that as well.

Patent on tadalafil (brand Cialis) has expired in UK and France (+ maybe elsewhere). Now MUCH cheaper in UK. Effective for ED

As with Viagra the patent on Cialis has expired and prices will come down.

A generic version of Cialis has been approved by the FDA. However, this does not mean that the product will necessarily be commercially available - possibly because of drug patents and/or drug exclusivity.

If you Google ' Generic Cialis availability' 'you will get more information.

Thanks for that. I live in the U.S. Still pretty high dollar here. There has been discussions of this and I understand that the amount one takes for the BPH problem is only 5 mg or .5mg. I'm not sure which. Isn't enough to help with ED. I don't have ED. if there's something there that turns me on its not a problem. But getting older does not help. Maybe time for some spiritual development.

The build up with the 5mg does usually help with erections. A urologist told a friend that it is also good for the heart and that all of his cardiology colleagues take it.

I took it for a short time but, at the moment the effect wore off, I found it was like a dam bursting and I had to rush to find a toilet. I returned to tamulosin but stopped that too when it restricted sexual activity.

Nurse at our GP practice said that Tamsulosin is the most complained about drug. I said, Yes by men. She replied, No by their wives 😃

If you have retention the best thing to take without side effects is a diuretic with plenty of water throughout the day to prevent dehydration. It is available by prescription and also has other benefits such as lowering high blood pressure and correcting swollen feet. One small pill a day is all that's necessary. It can do no harm. The only other alternative is self cathing.

Not Hydrochlorazide 25mg. I have taking it for years. I am 89. It works great.

I was very lightheaded while on alfluzosin. I switched to Flomax and have had decent results with little to no side effects.I have also tried Rapaflo. This gave me the best results for my LUTS but I hated the RE. Have you tried all of them?
