Abruptly stopping Minivelle estradiol patches, 4 years after total Hysterectomy

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi my name is Jill

I am 49 years old Monday lol

I had a total Hysterectomy, uterus &

ovaries taken out 4 years ago. I was

almost directly placed on the Minivelle

estradiol transdermal patches 0.1MG/

24HR Twice weekly. They have, I guess

covered most negative symptoms. But I

have had breakthrough anger, sadness,

headaches, breast pain & tenderness,

I do feel bloated at times. Also my

face will get blood red & hot usually

when my patch has came loose or

needed changing. So I'm not to sure

about what I will be like without the

Minivelle & having no estradiol at all.

I'm actually very afraid! I am not going

back on the Minivelle & not going back

to the Gyn. unless a emergency arises.

My medical Dr. doesn't believe in giving

out estradiol. And told me to try some-

thing from the Natural Store, that he

guarntees it will work lol. I have pur-

chased a box of rather expensive

Natural to try but when I ran them by

my Pharmacist she said no! They would

cause my symptoms to be worse! To

have my dr call her for a discussion. I

don't know what she had in mind.

But I've been trying to get them hooked

up & they cannot get it together for a

Conversation! I am 4 days over due

right now on my Minivelle. So far I

have been pretty weepy, some hot

flashes not bad yet, but starting yesterday

totally exhausted feeling! If you can give

me some help or advice on this. Maybe

You've been right where I am now. Or

you have info for me. Thank you if you

read through this. Have a blessed day!

Jill

    Hi,

I also had a hysterectomy in Feb. of 2016 due to fibroid tumors. I have been diagnosed with vaginal atrophy along with low hormones. I have been taking bioidentical hormones for 14 months and they have helped. I still have some symptoms but they are manageable with the help of creams. I had blood work done to check hormone levels and after receiving the result, my Dr. highly recommended bioidentical hormone therapy. A compounding pharmacy prepares the hormone gels that match my blood work results and mails them to me.

I wish you luck. It is not easy to deal with!

      Hello maryann35553

      Thank you for responding!

      The Bioidentical Hormone Therapy is

something, I will definitely speak with

      my Physician about.

      Blessings that all things will

      work together for your good!

Definitely agree with the others' posts here, go the Bioidentical route.
