Achalasia depression

What a day I've had today. After suffering extreme sickness ( up to ten times a day), night time vomiting and coughing, three and a half stone lost in weight and being unable to work due to lack of energy I finally went to hospital today for my long awaited op. Only to be told after changing into pre op clothing and waiting around for 5 hours that the surgeon did not have the time to do my ( as they put it) minor op. Ten and a half hours nil by mouth for nothing. I even got a bed!!! I'm so fed up with this now and now have to wait til Monday to find out when I'll get another date for new op. It's been a while since you posted.

Hope that you have now got another date set for your op and that you do not have to wait too long. I had my op about 5 weeks ago in Maidstone and have to say that they were fantastic. Got my follow up next week, and can honestly report 85% improvement, so hang in there.

    All the best

I had the operation nearly a year ago. Things do get better. Now eating almost normally. Hope all goes well. Hang on in there until then. Best of luck.

David 777 you really should go to your doctor for some support with your situation at present. I am sure that the operation will help, but I think that you could be given some help to see you through until then. Good luck.
