Ache all over and feeling sorry for myself!

Ok I know it's the run up to Christmas and I've probably been over doing it but for the last few days, within an hour of getting up, I've started to ache all over, this lasts most of the day together with a feeling of extreme fatigue. By the evening it eases somewhat. Am currently on 6mg Prednisolone, reducing by slow method. The aching I feel is not like PMR pain so can anyone tell me what is causing this? I'm going to have a busy time over Christmas and I'm afraid I won't be able to cope and it's making me feel miserable. Any comments welcome - thank you

I think you've already answered your own question - you are probably over doing things. Remember, pred doesn't fix PMR, it simply masks the pain. You will still have the underlying disease which will be causing the fatigue etc.

    My simply solution - DELEGATE!!!

Why not feel sorry for yourself - we all do at times, so what?  Flip is right - that's if you have anyone who can help you.  If not, help yourself - every now and again relax, have a sip of Christmas Cheer 🌲🍷then carry on.  You'll get there!

You've answered you own question - and to add to it you are at the stage where your body has to start producing its own corticosteroid. Low levels lead to extreme fatigue and it is the most likely cause of increasing fatigue as you reduce your dose of pred.

If you are under stress your body needs more spikes of cortisol - and tells you to slow down a bit. For some reason, people find this time of year stressful wink

My solution is even simpler than Flip's: What's Christmas??????

I have had the problem of overdoing it solved by my husband who dropped a bottle of champagne on to my unshod foot! That was 2 weeks ago  and it's still sore but worse if I overdo it. I am not tired because my foot stops me overdoing it and I am at 6.5mgs. In case you are wondering the bottle Is intact. It shot straight out of a gift bag on to my foot. 😳😳

Oh that's OK then - I was really worried for a moment! wink Champagne bottles do seem to be very SOLID! But you should be able to open it now, the bubbles will have subsided after 2 weeks lol

My mother once dropped a pyrex casserole on her foot - it survived but her foot was never right! We assume it broke one of the metatarsals on the instep...

The bottle was a present for someone else. I've requested a raising of a glass to my foot!🍸🍸 It's amazing how the article survives! A& E weren't sure if there is a break but the swelling and bruising have gone now which I found pleasing as still on steroids. Hopefully, my immune system is returning to normal.
