Ache in my testicle.

Around September last year, I started experiencing a strange achy kind of pain in my left testicle. Phoned the NHS 24 straight away and they told me to go to A&E to get it checked immediately. When the doctor at the hospital had checked it all out, he concluded that it was epididymitis and that it should clear up nicely with a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Now everything was fine for around 6 months until February, and then the same ache developed in the same testicle. I booked an emergency appointment with a GP (unfortunately it turned out to be a GP that is disliked by most patients for his utter unprofessional manner). That GP prescribed another course of antibiotics that I stupidly stopped taking halfway through because I was feeling better. Now around the same time in September, that the pain occurred last year, the pain started again and I got yet another emergency appointment with the same unreliable GP who has prescribed yet another course of antibiotics. I'm just putting this discussion out there for some advice about my situation, I have not been seen by a urologist in the last year which has confused me to be honest because I would have thought that if I have presented to the GP three times with the exact same symptoms and nothing has changed that either the initial diagnosis was incorrect or I'm suffering from some kind of chronic inflammation. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and how have you dealt with it?

If the issue is clearing up nicely with antibiotics, that is great! Most of us here are in 24/7 pain and antibiotics are not working.

However, you are correct, if this is a reoccurring issue get a referral to a urologist and get an ultrasound or MRI done. If you are not happy with your care, look elsewhere. Keep pushing until you can find someone that can help to your satisfaction. It may take several urologists too, as I find their core knowledge appears to be with kidney, bladder, urethea, and prostrate.

Good luck and keep us updated. See other posts here too on epididymitis
