I'm still learning about fibro as diagnosed about three months ago. Is it common to wake in the morning, aching all over your body and to feel flu like symptoms? I feel exhausted despite having just woken up. help cry

Hi shellybetts26 Its all perfectly normal its to do with fibro it happened to me on Tuesday morning by the evening it had gone. Fatique exhaustion not sleeping having disturbed sleep is all fibro Im afraid hun. all you can do is take each day as it comes, get through the day as best you can. 1st rule of fibro is we have to learn to pace ourselves, as if we dont we can end up in bed for days, weeks, even months. so paceing is very important if all you can manage is dusting 1 day hoovering the next, washing the next, thats how it has to be. thats how I work things so I dont over do things make my self more unwell. rest in between doing things. having fibro is a learning curve for us it affects us all differently in the severity of it. take care gentle hugs xx

it is how I wake every morning I am sorry to tell you, however, as Kaz says it is a question of learning to pace, something I am still coming to terms with this. As someone who has always been ultra active and busy it's not easy, but I have now accepted this, that, is the hardest thing shellybetts26, once you accept this, then it becomes more bareable, that and having lovely friends here to talk to, share and question.

Take care, be kind to yourself and gentle hugs xx

    Hi Shellybetts

Yes, that is how I feel most mornings.  Ever so achy and feel as if I am going to have a sore throat.  The flu-like symptoms disappear but aches all over the body not so....stay with me for most of the day.  Fibro is no fun, different symptoms come and go.

    Gentle hugs wink x

Thanks for your replies. It's so good to have people to turn to who understand. I have felt like this for over two weeks now. So tired too. I will have to pace myself better but it's so hard adjusting. Enjoy your weekend. Gentle hugs to you all xx

Yes, me to and it's nearly every morning.  I even have days that I don't even properly wake up till 11am!!   Have had the odd scenario of 1pm, but it's due to being well and truly exhausted, and that doesn't take much to do I might add.

I feel so embarrassed when folk have rung or knocked on the door and here I am still in bed 'out to it'...  And then there are the mornings, which are rarer that I'm up between 6 - 7.30am, or 9am feeling I have had a good sleep.  Wake up feeling alive and more refreshed, only to crash and burn out at 11am, or 2pm.  I either sit and get on the internet or watch TV 'if my fatigue' will allow me,  OR I lay down and 'sleep' for 2 - 4 hours.

Yes, one has to just take one day at a time.  It's like Forest Gumps saying, 'Life is like a box of chocolates, you just don't know what your going to get'. I think that's how it was said?..   Only for us it is, 'Every day is like a box of chocolates, you don't know what it is going to bring on'...

It takes some folk longer than others to adapt to 'living' with Fibro Fiend.  As we all differ in some ways or the intensities can vary.  We do seem to however, have commonalities and the big one is the actual  'Fiend' itself.

Low Moods for me most days given I don't get a real break from it, like some others here.  And the Fiend, takes away from us so much.  :-(   I have issues with the fact that I am not reliable for employment and it really sucks.  So I make do with my Oil Painting on days when I can hold a brush and concentrate enough on it.

Thanks for your feedback. It is good to know I;m not alone. I feel guilty too when it's 11am and still in my pyjamas and someone knocks on the door! Half the day has gone before I'm dressed and able to function. I'm not on any meds and haven't been referred to rumatogist. Just given a fact sheet by GP and basically have to learn to live with it. Take care and thank you x

Yes, Shellybetts it is completely normal. I hardly go to bed before midnight and can't get to sleep till daybreak. Then it will be around 9.30 when I wake, and I will be throbbing all over. I struggle to get out of bed, and feel so rough start sneezing, nose running etc. I so hate this damn Fibro! When I am up I then struggle to the kitchen to make a cuppa, its such hard work as i feel so exhausted. sad I wish it would all go away..
