Achilles

Hi, I fell backwards off of a wooden step, it felt like I strained the back of my ankle. At the time that foot was having gout symptoms. I am not sure if this is gout or if I strained the Achilles (a neighbor just went through Achilles surgery), or simply a muscle. Symptoms include: tightness in the calf, slightly sore in the calf at times that goes away quickly, a tingling sensation in the calf at times. No pain in the heel, no mobility issues. I am careful on steps.

Something to be concerned about? I know my neighbor ignored symptoms and ruptured his Achilles, something I want to avoid. With COVID I do not want to visit the doctor unless it is absolutely necessary.

Thank you.

Def have it checked out if the pain doesn't go away. Always best to be safe than sorry later on. And sometimes a simple X-ray is all you need to figure out what is going on.

    Good luck,
