Achilles' tendon damage

Hey all,

I have pretty severe Achilles pain in my left foot. The pain is most severe in the morning, and it clicks all day and I have never heard the 'pop' that other people talk about.

Guessing its not a full rupture however it is really limiting in what I can do. I have been to the GP surgeries and clear for several occasions I am a Due for a ultrasound scan,  but the whole process is taking really long I haven't been able to do sports since October.

there are many of you who have suffered with the same pain, do you have any advice as I am at a loss  and it's getting quite depressing.

thanks

Hi ive had achilles tendinitis for over a year now and its worse in my left ive had the pop and its horrid it feels like there is no bone there for a while. My gp said there is nothing that can be done just exercises, I work on my feet for 7 hours a day and some days its agony.

Have you tried any manual therapies?  For example:  deep tissue massage (this will hurt initially, but works to break up scar tissue, awesome if you've had an old injury), foot orthotics, stretching and exercises, cold laser, ultra sound, re-alignment of foot.

GP's are not excellent at musculo skeletal complaints and they don't treat them either, so if surgery or drugs won't help neither can they.  I would get a referral to a physio, a chiropractor or a massage therapist to do some hands on treatment on it.  I am a runner and get this if I stop running for too long.  I can barely walk in the morning!!  I also get tendinitis in my calf and achilles and it feels the same.  Good Luck!
