I am now five weeks post op atr, 2 weeks plaster, 3 weeks air boot, 4 weeks non weight bearing, 1 week today weight bearing! For the first few days all was well but last couple of days my calf and the area behind my knee are very tender to the touch and when on my feet those two areas feel like two much pressure is being applied, my boot is set at 0, has any one experienced similar symptoms?.

Lol!!! Yes I had surgery, 5 weeks ago today! Achillies is fine!  No real pain, very stiff,  prob is tender calf muscle, I'm hoping its just reaction to weight on it again, mine had totally snapped, surgery was the best option for me as wanted to get back on my feet ASAP, 12 weeks I was told!!!.

did you op for the tendon to repair itself

I have done some research and it seems each doc has his own approach to rehab! Do your homework and when you go back ask him all the questions you need answers for!

I think your going to have a lot of various strange and sinister pains and feelings especially in those areas.  I still think I have some swelling behind my knee to this day and I'm more than 6 months post op atr rupture.  I can't discount what you are feeling and say it's nothing but I can say my recovery has been a long and winding road filled with tendonisis and various feelings in that leg that were odd to me.  I was sent back to work on january 22nd after atr repair on dec 3 to a job that standing and walking with buckets of chemicals was needed.  That was scary and not a good idea.

Wow Danny! You went back to work after 6 weeks or so after a full rupture , did you have a boot or crutches or both when you went back??? My tendon feels fine! Odd twinge/shooting pain but that's it! My calf and back of my knee feel like there is too much pressure being applied when I try walk! Agony first thing in the morning! Can't function until pain relief kicks in! Also now getting pain in my cartilage! Is this what I have to look forward to??? Are you now, 6 months on back to normal???

I brought the boot and crutches with to work at 6 weeks, but I could not wear the boot because I handle hazardous chem that would eat up the boots cloth.  I suffered a lot!   And it was so hard to work.  Had tons of swelling for 2 to 3 months.

I believe your cartliage pain is normal.  I believe so at least.  I had tons of that and still do.

And no I'm not back to normal.  I still need to get a bit of strenth/stamina back.   Maybe I'm at 75 percent strength - not sure though.  And I've got tendinosis in the oposite achilles.  I have to do cold therapy to this day during work and after work otherwise I limp.  It's very hard to to these calf raises and then try to go and stand a lot at work.  Once I can do a one legged calf raise on that leg I'll be really close to healthy.
