Anyone suffer from acid reflux? I've read it's a side effect of this med. It's making my anxiety worse and the more I panic the more I get 😩

I do.  My normal heartburn reliever go tos didn't work, either.  The only thing that I have found to work is called Maty's all natural Acid Indigestion Relief.  It is a liquid, it tastes horrific, but it takes my reflux away completely within ten minutes, so I just hold my nose and get over the taste.

    Hi Mandy.

I suffer from Acid Reflux before I started sertraline and was on

medication for years but had to come off it due to bad side effects I

Started to get. But have been controlling it with diet which was working.

But I'm now got it back again, since starting on this medication which

That alone gives me rapid heart beat tightness in my throat.( acid Reflux that is ) So that makes me anxious, feel I'm on a no win at the moment.

I have gaviscon when it gets bad and watch what I eat

      Hi Mandy.

Sorry only just seen your reply.

Apparently with Acid reflux don't know if you know it can mimic a heart attack because with it being in the chest area the

Osophiguas gets inflamed and presses on nerves near the heart.

      And tightness of the throat.

So just tell yourself that's all it is, get some frozen peas put it on

the back of your neck for a few mins that helps me calm down. I also find eating a apple helps.

Hope that helps put your mind at rest.

Iv Been to A&E thinking it was my heart but it was all to do with

      reflux.

Yep, I have had it before. And now that I'm back on it, I just started getting it again about a week or so ago. First I thought it was bloating because of my monthly cycle, but then it was very terrible heartburn that woke me up at night. I'm thinking of eating 3 hours before I go to bed and also making sure I am in an upright position and not lying down the 3 hours after I eat. So yes, this med could cause acide reflux. Panic will only make it worse, as stress creats more acide in your stomach, so try to relax and know that it will get better. It comes and goes for me.
