Hi all. I am new here bit so thankful i came across this. Can any of you please help? I believe i have acid reflux. Awful symptoms, from pain below breast bone, to backache and such loud , gurgling noises. Usually all worse at bedtime when i lie down. Whats concerning me is these other symptoms i have. A feeling of pressure in my head, nose and ringing in ears. Also have had sharp pain, like electric shocks in chest. Am i going nuts or is anyone experiencing similar?

hi have you tried any over the counter meds for reflux and adjusting your diet cut out coffee fatty goods spices chocolate some fruits like citrus dont eat three hours before bedtime if you've tried all of the above j would see your doctor then can give you a stronger medication and also send you to have an endoscopy to determine what the problem is

It sounds like you could have oesophagitis and possibly gastritis, you should have an endoscopy. There are a few things which can cause these painful problems. Anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, certain foods and drinks high in acid, smoking, some other medications and h pylori. You need to see a gastroenterologist.Reflux can also affect your sinuses so that could be what is affecting head, ears and nose.

Could actually feel the acid bubbling up my throat and then my head feels odd with pressure in ears.Have just bought gaviscon to see if that helps. Am going to doctor also. It's so awful and i was really beginning to worry. Thank you all for your replies.

One thing that can help is to sleep on the left side. The stomach is shaped like a tea kettle so if you sleep on your right side liquid will come out causing damage. You likely have a number of issues. Bad bacteria in the gut can start this domino effect. So, I would also recommend killing off all your gut bacteria and then start with a clean slate. To do this I use pepto bismol. I take 2 tablets (not liquid) chew and swallow. every two hours for a total of 6 tablets. The next morning you will notice that your tongue is black. Clean it off and now start eating organic probiotic yogurt. Lots of it. You can also take a quality probiotic capsule.

If you notice that the gurgling and gas has been resolved, then you can start making progress by improving your diet to maintain it.
