Acid reflux at its worse

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, i am a 26 year old male and for the last month my heartburn has been at its worse! I have had constant heartburn every day almost for four years taking 20mg omeprazole when i felt it really bad.

Recently its been really bad every minute of every day and nothing is soothing it! I have tried everything and i am at my wits end! I do not want to take omeprazole all the time and do often rely on over the counter medicine such as gaviscon and rennies.

Does anyone have any suggestions why this had struck me so severely? And how i can try control this going forward!

Its also important to note i have been recently suffering from health anxiety due to the passing of a close relative and this onset of severe heartburn is not helping that either.

    Hi

Sorry to hear youre not feeling good at all.

I feel going to doctors and telling them exactly how u are be the best.

U say uve had reflux issue for 4 yrs. Have they done any investigation such as gastroscopy,H pylori testing, ph testing and manometry?

Finding out the problem and trigger is important.

The way u sleep, eat ... all has an impact on reflux.

How do u sleep, what do u eat? Is yr weight where it should be?

If Omeprazole doesnt work there are other meds in the group u could try.

Sometime they are needed for some period to help u heal.

Have u got doctor or gastro doctor u could discuss it with?
