Acid reflux, digestive disorders and Prescription medications

I have been suffering from acid reflux and occasional major nausea and vomiting episodes for about 6 years.  My doctors have threatened me with surgery and say that I am uncooperative.  When I am going through a vomiting episode I have even considered the worst  Yes, that bad.  I have seen many doctors about my digestive issues and not one has mentioned that the Flonase that I have used for almost 8 years could be related.   That is unforgivable and borderline malpractice.  I should sue them all.  I have stopped my Flonase treatment and hope I start getting better.  I would like to hear your story of prescription medication related digestive disorders.

I just figured out that Nasonex is causing awful heartburn thanks to this forum. I have Crohn's disease and thought it was related to that. It wasn't so hard to figure out because I was only taking it occasionally.  I am throwing it away and won't buy it and it's cousins ever again.  I bet there are plenty of people out there suffering from the same confusing thing.  This is a travesty.  I below to another health forum and will post on it.  We need to get the word out!  Big Pharma is causing so many problems with all their expensive advertising.  Anyway, good luck to all of you out there and hoping all have great improvement.

I know this post is several years old, but did your reflux finally clear up after stopping the nasal steroids?

    Hi John,

I ran across your situation in the chat, my hope is that you are feeling much better. My situation of LPR (silent reflux) came on quite suddenly. I've used Flonase for several years and had no issues but now I'm hoping that Flonase caused LPR and after stopping it, I will get better.

My symptoms are sore throat and ear pain that burned, post nasal drip, coughing, and coughing spells at night, congestion. In mid September my family dr prescribed antibiotics and I started feeling so much better but the post nasal drip wasn't going away so I was able to go to the ENT.

He performed a nasal endoscopy, told me I have evidence of LPR, gave me a pamphlet and went on his way. He didn't go over a treatment plan at all. After reading the pamphlet I've modified my diet, bought a wedge pillow too. I'm trying to avoid daily acid reflux medication. I get a sinus CT next week per my request to rule out anything else before accepting this diagnosis. I'm congested again but family dr asked if I can wait to take antibiotic until CT scan.

Are your LPR symptoms better now since you stopped Flonase?
