Acid reflux help please!

Hello everyone, hope all is well

I have been in and out of hospital (emergency) and also in and out of the GP for several months now with chest pain and generally feeling unwell. I have had ECG and blood tests and everything seems to be normal. Recently I have been discovering chest pain, hot flushes, eyes go funny and sharp pain in my stomach/ ribs and slight back pain. I went yesterday to hospital again because before they told me my chest wall was inflamed and now they say I have acid reflux. I'm off sick from work because I don't like feeling faint while at work which I did feel like on Friday, but obviously this is not in my control if it happens. Sometimes I will be sitting at my desk and suddenly will get really hot, my eyes would go abit funny and il have a pain in my stomach. When I go toilet, nothing really comes out. That lasts about a minute or so feeling like that but my anxiety of worrying what it may be last every single day (which is not good).

My question is; can acid reflux really give me all these symptoms!? I am currently on medication once a day

Thank you in advance lovelies!

Sadie

You have just described exactly how I've been feeling for the past 2 weeks. My gp is convinced I have ANOTHER stomach ulcer and it's not my heart. But it's so hard to believe when you feel so sick. I haven't wanted to leave my bed for 3 days due to lethargy. I've also lost 1/2 stone in a week! ! I'm due an ecg on Thursday because I nagged so much. My symptoms are nausea, belching, pain in mid chest and upper left chest, also under left breast and below left ribs sort of bowels, headache and generally anxious about it all. So, yes, acid reflux etc can make you feel ill!

Hey I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. It can be so worrying! I've been off sick and going to try and go in tomorrow to work. I just don't like feeling like that around people but I guess what gets me through is that it's not in my control. I hope you feel really better soon and I'm sure it's not your heart. I've been researching and reading forums about this and some describe the symptoms like they are having a heart attack. Stay strong and keep positive - yes positive I know that's easy to say. People around me think it's all in my head lol but I know it's not - stay positive and smile whatever comes your way !! smile peace and love

Hello Sadie - you poor thing - try not to stress, take some deep breaths when you start to feel unwell, use some mind power. Also, have you had investigations by a gastroenterologist? Highly recommend you doing so.  Take it easy, I know easier said thatn done! All the best

    Hi Sadie,

The chest pain does it hurt when you're lying down? Reason why I'm asking is because I've got Oesophagitis and ulcers in my oesophagus, I get similar symptoms only found out because I told my gp that I thought it was an ulcer so I was given an x ray plus an endoscopy which gave the results, have you asked your gp to give you those tests?

I also had bloods done and they came back fine

Hope this was a little insightful

    Regards,

    Richard

      Hi Richard

      Thank you for your reply

I haven't told the docs to give me those tests, maybe I should?

I can have chest pains laying down or sitting or any position.

Doctors are not really helpful, it's like I have to diagnose myself instead of them helping me to find out what it is. They don't spend enough time and I have been going back and forth. My family also think it's in my head, so that leaves me to hustle and find out for myself and prove them wrong that's it's not made up!
