Acid reflux or bowel obstruction??

I recently went to a new gastro doc and he suggested that I have a bowel obstruction vs acid reflux. Has anyone been told this by a gastro doc? I had my prior doc for a little over a year and he never suggested this so I am little surprised.

    Hi Carmen

Why does he think you have a bowel obstruction? Have you had a colonoscopy

I have suffered Chronic reflux for 5 years now and I have had issues with constipation a lot! But I have had a colonoscopy and nothing showed. Have you had an endoscopy?

I have just started HRT treatment to try to resolve the reflux 'nightmare' but only been taking for 24 days, so early days still. Although last few days my reflux has worsened but I have changed my bed!! I sleep elevated on 2 bricks but the 2 bricks on a different bed doesn't seem to be working. Cant figure it out becasue the angle should be the same? Had to sleep on my recliner chair last night. That was comfy (NOT!!!).

What is the treatment for the bowel obstruction? Im seeing new gastro this month so I will ask him about this.

    regards

Oh yes I know all about sleeping on the sofa lol I usually use 4 pillows to help prop me up. Its not fun and most of the time you cant sleep. I have not had a colonoscopy and this was my first visit to him and that's what he suggested I had. When I got home I looked up tests for bowel obstruction and xray and ct scan came up that's why I was confused why he said we needed a endoscope. I would think a scan would at least show where the obstruction was and I am not constipated, that was another thing I found weird.
