Terry,
This is such an individual journey. How are you feeling? How are you functioning?
For me, I watch my data closely. I also do exactly what I'm told with diet, exercise, and medications. But then o find myself focusing on how I'm feeling; how I'm functioning. If I'm feeling relatively well and able to do what matters most to me, I call it a win and try not to focus on my CKD. Instead, I do my best to try to enjoy the day🐶
I'm done worrying about whether I can improve my renal function. I'm done worrying about what I will experience as this progresses. I'm finally at peace with my medical situation.
My creatinine was 4.6 which put my eGFR at 8-9 as s 64 year old woman. Frankly, I was surprised that I felt as well as I did with such minimalbrenal function. I've experienced some improvement but know that it is temporary. Dialysis is in my future. I just know how soon I'll get there at this point.
In the meantime I'm interacting with people who have successfully managed all of this. I'm learning from others. I find their support to be invaluable. To a person they have all acknowledged that dialysis has its challenges but that their individual experiences with it were no where nearly as bad as they had expected. I hope I'll be able to say the same after I've started PD dialysis.
Wishing you nothing but the best!

Wish I could help but my blood test results are reported totally differently. For example my MicroAlbumin was reported as .8 mg/dl, my Creatinine was via blood test, not urine test, my ACR was 8.7 mc/mg. On your results did they not give you what a typical range is for normal and how far below normal you were? Keep in mind that if you only have one kidney your numbers will be below what is called the "normal" range.

Yes treatment of prednisone is very normal for what I have which is Minimal Change Disease.
My numbers now are:
Urine Albumin 11mg/L
Urine Creatinine 22 mmol/L
Urine ACR <1 g/mol
Very happy with results - tapering off prednisone and do monthly bloodwork for my nephrologist. Hoping once I wean off I stay in remission for a long time!!
Heres to staying positive - I was recently diagnosed October 2017.
