Active vs Non-Active

Just a thought... I had HS for 20 years, after a recent remission (Clindamycin) I reflected that it was the same boils for the last 5 or so years... I'm not getting new ones appearing.  It's just the old ones flaring up all the time.

This doesn't really help anyone... but I felt like I was in an endless spiral.  But if you stop and think if you're developing new ones... then maybe seeking some strong antibitics (Clyndamicin, Rifampicin)... to bring about a remission... or some surgery...   Could get you back on top of it?

I'm in a positive phase right now after the antibiotics and surgery on the pilonidal one.

Mine surgery was on my backside and most people with that surgery have a large open wound or a primary closure (stitches) stitches are in for a couple of weeks.. Still you keep all pressure off the wound while it continues to heal.

The open wounds seem to grow back about 1 square inch a month.

So you should find out if it's going to be stitched up or left to heal naturally. The open wound might require daily dressing and packing so the exudate is drawn out and it doesn't dry up and scab.
