Acupuncture and chronic migraine

Hi all,

Has anyone tried acupuncture for chronic migraine and did it help?

I tried it about 4 years ago, but it didn't work. If anything, it might have made it worse. But the person I went to didn't really talk at all or discuss the problem. So I'm thinking of trying again if I can find an acupuncturist who will talk and discuss things and has experience of treating migraines.

Hi Alice, yes I've had acupuncture and Reiki and physiotherapy and so called "healing hands" placed over me and they all triggered migraines. However I have ever heard that Indian head massage is good and relaxes you but I can't bear my head being touched so that's a no for me.Let me know if you try it.

I have tried acupuncture for numerous health issues and it has always worked for me. Stress is probably the key trigger for migraine, and acupuncture is a great relaxer. Have them stay away from your ears tho as I have experienced dizziness as a result of ear treatment. Also recommend regular exercise, massage, getting proper sleep, watching your diet and adding magnesium and other herbal supplements. Migraine is not in control. You are! Keep us posted!

I have read some success stories regarding acupuncture. They are very thankful but they do have a common complaint. Acupuncture treatment really is expensive.

You can take into consideration this website,  that maybe will convince you to try acupuncture again.
