Acute HIV?????

Hi everyone,

This is definitely a huge stretch of me to make so if you wanna laugh by all means go ahead. Basically, I've never had any kind of sexual intercourse. The only sexual activity I've participated in is performing oral and receiving oral. About a month or so (possibly longer) later from my last encounter, I experienced a stuffy nose, sneezing, and a sore throat. I am the type of person to get sick a lot so this normally wouldn't faze me but I guess the internet has a way of stressing you out with their endless diagnoses. I don't have any other symptoms besides the ones listed. I realize HIV is normally transmitted through needles and unprotected sex, but could it be possible?

i'm not really sure how or if hiv can be contracted in your case, but you should consider getting tested for corona. I think an std is sort of a stretch

True. I did previously have COVID though - at this time I'm not sure if it is possible to get reinfected (probably possible although I haven't heard of any cases of it).

It wouldn't be possible with saliva (so HIV from receiving oral is out of the question). But apparently if there are breaks inside the mouth and the ejaculate is swallowed, the chances aren't 0 but still low. Although it still seems like a stretch in my mind

oh okay. if you get any sort of sores or discomfort, whether it be in your mouth or genital region, seek medical attention.

You jumped from 0-100 in no time. This was acute pharyngitis, which was likely the cause of a seasonal virus, strep throat, or allergies. Absolutely not HIV.
