    Hi!

If you've finished your course of prednisone and josamycin (which I'm not familiar with; don't think it's available in the US) and you're still having symptoms with no improvement at all, go back to your doctor and ask about a stronger antibiotic. Bronchiectasis makes it harder to clear respiratory infections anyway, so sometimes you have to hit early and hard. Also see if you can get something to make it easier to cough out the sputum (and drink lots of water), you definitely need that out of there.

I developed a severe bronchitis in mid-November that took six weeks and three different antibiotics to resolve, so you have my sympathy! Good luck to you and I hope you're better soon.

Crimson is 100% correct. It took 10 months to clear my infection, many different rounds of ABs, helped along by 2 nebulizer medicines used several times daily, mucus thinners, tons of water, and a lung vibration system. You can accomplish the latter possibly via positional drainage and/or flutter devices. Ask your doc/nurse for more help.

    Hi Rahem

You sound like your very poorly right now.

I have noticed that a lot of people ask to be referred to a respiratory physio specialist.

If meds dont seem to help then maybe some physical manipulation techniques will.

    Hope things improve for you.

Hi  Rahem. I'm in UK - I'm 67 and have had bronchiectasis since 3 years old. Usual story - a lifetime of several chest infections every year and regular antibiotic treatment, all the time becoming less effective. And life becoming very miserable.

In August 2016 after an especially difficult year with several chest infections not only in winter but in summer too, I did a lot of internet research and as a result, I started to take Turmeric capsules daily. I take irealherbs (745mg) x 2 each day.  I also take a turmeric + ginger  + black pepper drink (with hot water and honey) once a week.

Since August 2016 I have had not one single chest infection and therefore no need for any doctor consultation/prescribed antibiotics. Mucus is very much reduced and I feel so much more well and energetic.

I feel so grateful to have found this remedy ...

I will continue with my Turmeric regime indefinitely - it's not expensive and - it works, for me!!!

I hope this helps. There's so much information on this out there on the web, if you' want to check it out. In any case - all the best and good luck for improvement in your health, going forward.

Hi Alison, We are so similar. I  am 70 (just) and have had bronx since 3 months of age after measles then pneumonia. I have recently started taking a turmeric cap with ginger and pepper and don't think I am bringing up so much rubbish but it might be a blip.  You also mention ireal herbs - can't find these, only get 'Real' herbs which is the makers name. Can you explain further please. I have also been taking daily  1 raw garlic clove crushed and put on  savoury oat biscuits which I have already spread with almond butter - I find this very tasty with salad, and think the raw garlic must also be beneficial. Regards, Gill

Hi Gill, yes the manufacturer is  realherbs (apologies!). And in case  it's of any help, here is the 'recipe' for the Turmeric drink which I take - especially if I ever feel a cold or similar coming on. It absolutely kills emerging colds/infections, stone dead.

1  inch piece of sliced ginger/1 teaspoon ginger powder

      I teaspoon turmeric powder

      1 tablespoon organic honey

      1/4  teaspoon ground black pepper

      1/2 cup boiling water

In a bowl, mix all ingredients except the honey. Mix well and transfer into a saucepan. Add 1/2 cup boiling water, place on a low heat  and cook for about 5 minutes.

      Finally, add the honey.

I feel completely blessed to have discovered something which has freed me from decades of endless infections and courses of antibiotics - I only wish that more folks suffering with repeated chest infections were aware of this option.

Best regards - and good health!

      Alison

Thanks Alison. I've spent a lifetime on regimes hoping for one that works, hope this does work for me. Can I also ask what herbs you take. I always add thyme to my casseroles which I believe is good for lungs, but that's the extent of it.

Hi Gill, I don't take any particular herbs; but I do drink at least a cup of ginger tea each day and eat lots of apples and tomatoes (been found to clear/strengthen lungs). I take soya milk instead of cows; and  I take a Q10 supplement (1 x day) from Future You ([b]https://futureyouhealth.com/coq10[b].html), Q10 a renowned lung protector & esp. helpful for chronic lung conditions. This brand is I believe, the best (and nowhere near the most expensive!).  Apart from that - I don't take anything and no prescribed medicines at all.

I hope this helps, just shout any time though.

      Best regards,  Alison

Hi, I have actually got Q10 in stock but not taken it regularly. Must add it to my new regime with the turmeric and garlic. I now don't eat much fruit as I am plagued by oral thrush and have been for a few years because of the inhalers and antis. A big nuisance and quite restricting on fruit intake tho I do eat raspberries and blackcurrants which are fairly low in sugar.  Regards, Gill

Rahem, im sure that he did a sputum specimin sample to isolate the  bacteria that is causing your symptoms. If not have him do a sputum sample. BXers can be hard to treat, with all the antibiotics that we take but there is nothing like a good doctor in your conner.

    Hope this helps.
