ADD,Social Anxiety and Ritalin

Hello, Since College my social anxiety has been very severe. I was wondering if my ADD (Attention Decficit Disorder) has something to do with this, due to the case i'm anxious that i won't know what to say, i thought ADD may be i high reason for this, Am i correct? And things i'm thinking of doing to sort this out is by getting a doctor to prescribe me ritalin. Will Ritalin help the anxiety and allow me to be more talkative?

Your advice would be extremely appreciated. Thank you smile

    Hi Lewis

For me when ive struggled with being in a social environment i have tried to deal with it naturally not with medication. Using medication will only mean that you become dependant on it, plus there are a lot of side effects that could happen as a result of taking the medication.

Try going outside and counting to 10, rub the front of you're thumb or use some natural products such as essential oils to help reduce levels of feeling anxious.

You express yourself well enough. You will be more talkative if you have things to talk about. Participate in more popular activities. read more. Be ready to talk. Be ready to enjoy quiet moments. Medicine is a last resort

ritalin is used to calm down symptoms of ADD rather than anxiety. But it may help it a little. Although I am not really sure about that just a theory.
