I was diagnosed this Friday. At first I thought it was good that I now have a name for what is going on but now I'm overwhelmed. There is so much to learn. Trying to learn all of it when you're this tired is incredibly difficult.

I am going for the blood test tomm and have all the symptoms of Addison. What have you learned so far that has been most beneficial?

I'm still learning. Slowly learning. I'm having a hard time reading the symptoms because I always feel tired and I always have a cold. What's worse is being at the edge of fainting all the time. I can see that the medication is helping a little bit but my biggest thing is learning how to adjust the meds.   Wish I had more insight. What I know is that I'm scared. I haven't really said that to anyone.  It just scares me.

There us absolutely NO reason that you should feel dizzy or light headed if the physicians have your medication correct.

Check to see if you should be taking your Hydrocortisone three times a day! Most doctors tell I you to take it twice. I had to see a specialist in the UK because the physicians didn't look in the correct direction. For a year I was on 40 mg instead of 30mg. I developed a heavy face and my body ached! Too much Hydrocortisone!!

Come to find out about 5% of Addisonians, how to you like that label, have a problem I guess you cold call it absorption. And the the morning dose is burnt by the system and doesn't last till the last dose.

For a year I had very frequentl bouts of dizziness.

I saw the specialist and in 10 minutes he told me too take the only 30mg of Hydrocortisone three times a day.... 8, 12 & 4.

I was fine in a week.

Again you should NOT be feeling ill or dizzy!

      Get another doctor!

Good to hear your appetite is back.

Force yourself to eat if it drops off or at least take

A one a day Multi vitamin and mineral tablet

You are the only person who can tell exactly what you need.

Rest and sleep well your body is working harder than everyone elses just doing nothing

You now have a diagnosis to build a new life upon

    😀

Hang in there and fasten your seatbelt. It's a bit of a ride(figuring out what works for you ) but you will gain control soon. In the meantime listen to your body's signals and remember to save enough energy for tomorrow.
