Additional diagnoses as well as SS

whilst I probably do have fibromyalgia,   I have never had an exact diagnosis as such. I just know I hurt at all the relevant pressure points. Is there a more accurate way of diagnosing this?

i’m now having quite serious pain in my shoulder joints. Sometimes they almost throb, even without any movement.I could put this down to carrying shopping bags, having to sometimes push my husband in a wheelchair when we are at the hospital, but I’m not so sure. In the past when I have had the time, I did aquarobics and I don’t remember having the same sort of pain in my shoulders even though there was plenty of exercise in the swimming pool which could have caused this. Any comments would be helpful. Thank you

Hello estelle, sorry for your pain as I am also going through this. FYI, the pressure point dx for FM is outdated. You do not need that for a dx. My rheumy told me they basically go off symptoms, pain, and sleep patterns at times. There are a lot of newer articles on this. Wishing you a pain free day!

Estelle how old are you? Are you like 50 or older? If so what you may have is something called polymyalgia rheumatica or PMR for short. The symptoms are very similar to fibromyalgia but the pain can be controlled by taking prednisone. And it also can go into remission. It would be worth your time to look up the symptoms and see if they fit you. Because from your description I would definitely say you are describing PMR.
