adrenal fatigue? Could this be it?

Twice now in the space of 12 months I have developed a very similar set of symptoms which have followed a similar progression yet I remain undiagnosed.

On both occasions I began with some mild stomach discomfort which I

thought might be gastritis. My GP didnt seem overly concerned though.

Following on from that I go on to develop pain in the upper abdomen underneath the ribs on both sides. I also suffer with itchy skin (the itching does not leave a rash or draw blood and it happens all over my body and particularly on my scalp).

I also have a very dry mouth which is unrelenting regardless of how much fluid I drink. With this is an on going low level stomach discomfort in the pit. However, it does not affect my appetite at all and I find myself overeating.

It has left me fatigued and very anxious.

I have had blood tests to check liver function, thyroid, full blood count and u and e. I have also had B12 levels checked, folate and iron. I am not diabetic based on the blood and urine tests either.

An ultrasound of my upper abdomen showed no issues with gallbladder, pancreas, spleen kidneys, liver etc?

Has anyone any ideas or similar stories. My GP is suggesting stress but it doesn't sit right with me?

Thanks

James

I am going through something similar and I feel your frustration. I wake up every morning with what feels like if I was being injected with an overabundance of stimulants. It's so bad that I feel nauseous and shaky and sometimes I need to pace just to try and get some relief. I too have gone to doctors in the past where every test showed nothing. Then they dismissed it as anxiety. I go to a natural health doctor now and have had a saliva test done which shows that my cortisol is too high especially in the mornings. He is trying different things to try and lower it but so far nothing is working. I've had this in the past and I've eventually recovered but this time I'm worried since nothing seems to work. He says he won't give up so I hope something will eventually work. I haven't felt good for months now.

I do not think it is adrenal fatigue at all... I do not know what to say, perhaps try another GP... insist.

I do not know what to tell you really... only that you should try another GP. It is not stress. Have you had your cortisol levels checked? You can contact a pathology lab privately and have the saliva cortisol test and the lab themselves will advise you on a doctor to interpret the results.
