Adverse reaction to Shingrex

I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation May 1, 2016, and during that year had a total of 6 AFib episodes. May 1, 2017 I had an episode of AFib but not any for an entire year - not one for a whole year until three days after receiving the first dose of the new Shingrex  on April 24, 2018 at which point I have had daily AFib episodes and sometimes twice daily! In addition to the physical and psychological trauma of these disturbing AFib episodes, I am highly suspicious that these are due to Shingrex.

Hi Betty. I'm sorry you are going thru this. I had my first dose of the Shingrix vaccine in April and scheduled to go back for 2nd and final dose in June. I've had shingles for several years now, so there WERE some side effects but only shingles related for me. It was temporary though. I've seen they posted all the data from the clinical trials online and they also included the side effects from the study. I can't recall if anything cardiac was listed there. I hope this gets better for you, friend. Take care

    Betty,

I am sorry you are going through this. Was your temperature elevated after you had the Shingrex? I have had paroxysmal atrial fibrillation three times that I am aware of. Twice, it directly followed an episode of shingles in my ear, precipitating strokes. I am on Eliquis. Are you on an antiarrhythmic medication to counter the atrial fibrillation? I am. I plan on getting the Shingrex.

    Best Wishes

    Merry Juliana
