I am currently on pred 30mg for 8 weeks for my joints, our cleaner has been to the doctors today and has got shingles 😑😑

I have had chicken pox as a child but worried I may now get shingles.

Any advice

I've sent you a PM with the link to NHS Choices info re shingles and chicken pox. Hope that helps.

I dont think you have any cause for concern.  For those who have never had chickenpox previously, they can 'catch' it from someone with shingles, as shingles is the chickenpox virus.  However if you've had chickenpox you now have immunity and cannot catch shingles.  You may independently develop shingles from having had chickenpox previously but cannot catch it from another person.

Hi Beckyes if you have had chickenpox you should be OK, but as you've had a major operation I would avoid having your cleaner as your stress levels after a major operation might be a trigger.Poor you.Regards Amanda
