Advice for Anti Depressants, specifically Fluoxetine

I've been on and off anti depressants now for about 2 years with mixed results, was originally Sertraline which made me feel amazing at first but then I began to feel like a zombie after I'd been on it months and had a loss of interest in things, I blamed the medication but it could just as easily have been the pandemic.

Recently I changed to Fluoxetine on 20mg which I was up and down with then it levelled out. My doctor increased it to 40mg and the first few days I felt the best I'd felt in years, these things seem to make me feel better at first and then I feel less good as time goes on, I find myself not depressed or happy but in between and unable to enjoy things I normally enjoy.

The advice I need is whether I should persist with the 40mg in hopes I feel as good consistently at some point as I did the first few days I was taking them, or is the way I feel now just how the tablets work. I also have issues that they give me a really anxious feeling in my stomach in the morning which only calms down later in the day.

Just looking to see if anyone has felt similar and persisted with them and then ends up feeling better.

If I could feel the way they made me feel in the first few days consistently then it would be amazing
