Advice needed

i have been feeling unwell fora good few months now,

i had the flu last year, well doc said flu but I'm not convinced.

i suffered a really bad headache and aching muscles and was bed bound fora week.

after this I have never been the same.

i still suffer muscle ache and bad headache and tiredness.

also I have IBS.

this comes and goes every couple of months and doc's are still not sure what's going on. They have sent me to a  neurologist and I'm awaiting muscle test.

But I think I could have fibromyalgia as I have looked at the symptoms and I seem to fit most of them.

This week I have had the worst headache ever !

Also with muscles ache.

Please what do you think,

fibro or something else,

many thanks

Hi Lisa. Well it could be Fibromyalgia. Since you have had aches and pains on and off ever since that virus, it is very possible. They still don't really know what causes Fibromyalgia, but there could be triggering factors. Ask your doctor to refer you to a Rheumatologist. Also get a full physical examination and complete blood work done. You could be deficient in minerals or iron. If you have an Iron deficiency, you will have all of these symptoms. You can take charge of your own health my dear. You know your own body and how you are feeling. Doctors are not infallible. If you are not satisfied with your doctor, go to another. Also, make sure you are drinking enough water to ensure that you are not dehydrated. That can bring on headaches. It sounds like the ones you are experiencing are Migraines. Don't worry too much. I'm sure you will get the answers you need Lisa. If it is Fibromyalgia, you will learn to manage the symptoms. You are not alone. xx

      Thank you ,

i have been to see a  neurologist who are going to send me for some muscle test.

I have had all sorts of bloods done and all clear.

i drink lots of water too.

doc has said she doesn't think it migraines and this is pain in one area and mine is the whole of my head.

And  yes I do feel something is not right, I'm normally a fairly heathy person but this is just weird.

i do have osteopenia and a bit of arthritis.

so many people I talk to say fibromyalgia and reading about it it does come close to a lot of my symptoms.

Just not sure what to say to the doctor about what I think.

just feel very low righ now and very fed up with it all 😒

      ❤️

Good that you can narrow things down. At least you know that you have a reasonable health. You will get to the bottom of it eventually. Try not to be too discouraged. We are all struggling with something or other in our lives. Maybe, Talk it out with a trusted friend. Sometimes just having a listening ear can be a real help. Try to Manage your stress. A massage helps me. x

hi lisa, before you or your doctor settle on fibro check out lymes disease. i had flu ? 4 yrs ago followed by what seemed like classic fibro symptoms coming and going in what seemed to be flares i was diagnosed with fibro in 2014 but my symptoms became constant and progressive i have been to hell and back. every symptom was seen as fibro once i got that lable. although i was relieved at the time to get what seemed like a reason for the never ending list of symptoms it stood in the way of me getting futher testing and the correct diagnosis. doctors are very good at checking lots of other serious diseases before fibro can be confirmed and this was the case with me but lymes didnt seem to be even considered the symptoms of fibro and lymes are similar check out the lymes disease forum lots of realy good advice, stories and symptoms on there and how to get the correct testing
