Advice needed ASAP please xx

Hi Fred thank you for your reply let me know how you get on?i can't get out of the house I feel that bad.

My whole body is aching like a tooth ache I don't feel well at all my insides are like jelly an me skins burning feel so frightened xx

Am frightened it doesn't work am I end up in a worse mess!how come your only sleeping that?i am now.how have you been tapering Fred?how did you get on?xx

Hi tess am really glad it's going good for you.am a mess please tell me it gets better??am really struggling to get a grip of everything.how did you taper the zopiclone.shall I ask for 6ml diazepam?to replace the zopiclone.what about the other 4ml of diazepam I was taking?shall I just throw the zopiclones an go straight to diazepam 6ml?am so confused.xx

How have you been tapering tess?am vulnerable an don't no if my body an mind can handle this.xx

What's happens if I had diazepam an it doesn't work?feel so messed up xx

Hi paula , my issues come from extreme long term insomnia that stem back 30 yrs , i have just got back from GP and i have been incresed back upto 5 mg to start again tonight but its not the end of the world - i am now out of danger dosages was taking 25 mg every other night and occassionally 1 ot twice a month  35 mg a night , i also have to go to hosipital now once aweek for a 6 week course helping me with sleep , massive amounts of sleeplessness messess with your hormones mind concentration everything . 

Go to your Dr paula  they are there to help you - you are not going through this alone - we are all in a similar place

Hi Fred am so glad you got sorted.way to go at 5ml...you want to be so proud of yourself Fred!have never in all my life experciencing anything like it....I did what you said an dragged my behind down to the gp-so thank you very much as have just found a doctor who listened an has reinstated 8ml of diazepam an to do away with the zopiclone...am frightened I take it an feel even worse??i just hope an prey this works.my main concern is what happens if I get tolerance with drawls from the diazepam while taking it?because have been suffering for weeks am thinking am just going to feel the same?i just know I can't go on like this.thank you for listening Fred an am glad your getting sorted.An thank you for giving me that push to go X

Hi Paula , not as long as you would think - but i tried to rush it thats why i have to go back up 2 mg back up to 5 mg from 3 , like tess says a slow taper is the best averaging a reduction 1 mg every 7 days or even 14 days .

Have a look a prof  h ashtons  reduction tapering tables  like tess mentioned - easy to find when googled , from 8 mg it wont take you that that long , stick with the plan and keep in touch with your dr  i also make enrties into a daily diary and keep records i find that helps me alot

...i will be starting my 9th week tomorrow of tapering

Thanks Fred,it's all just so confusing with lack of sleep an food deprived due to no appetite what so ever!3 weeks have been struggling like this for.feel to weak to think straight.she said stabilise on 8ml an will do a 1ml reduction every 2 weeks!am just so frightened I won't ever stop feeling like this.i only started 4ml of diazepam to begin with five month ago,but because of the zopiclone it's now gone up to 8.when you get bad with drawels did you ever feel like I can't do this?or giving up?thats how I feel it's not me at all I was so out going!!well done Fred an keep at it you can do it X

I need to just get this off my chest!has any body felt when there going thru with drawels that they had no life to go back too?sorry if it sounds weird but I keep on getting insidious thoughts,of how can my life go back to how it was before xx

Hi paula , often i felt like that , often even taking my own life , at the moment i am in terrible shaky pain - but i have to go back up again tonight , i have just telephoned a specialist tranquilizer group they recommend a reduction of 1 mg a month from 5 mg , prof h ashton says  1mg every  1 to 2 weeks , i want to get off these asap but it is best done safely - i now am finding this out the hard way - again from when i stopped abruptly in may and thought i was going to die - but didnt i started the taper from then , iam sure we all want it quicker but everyone is different and a lot depends on how long youve been taking them and how big a dose  .

How long were you on these for Fred?was it only diazepam you were taking!well make sure you take it tonight an get a good nights rest.phew thought it was just me.i think am scared of taking the 8ml diazepam an not ever wanting to feel like this again!its horrendous...I was taking zopiclone for 3+years then diazepam for 5 month at 4ml.but I just stopped the diazepam an suffered ever since.then when I take my zopiclone I get around 4 hours kip then bang the intense with drawels start all over again.my doctor explained that when my zopiclone stop my body as no diazepam or zopiclone in.so she said do away with the zopiclone an start 8ml.Am very hyper sensitive to medications so I might as well of been taking the max dose!do you think reinstating will help with the with drawels?i want my life back xx

i started taking diazepam 15 years ago intermittently - i was ok for months at a time with no problems , either i didnt take to much then or some could have been fakes ,  between  2 and 3 years back i started to take every other day diazepam and zopicline also almost a year back , but since being at hospital 2 months ago ive just been tapering on diazepam because they have a longer half life they call it  and considered better for taper withdrawal . yourl get there paula 8mg is to bad some people start on 30  40  or even  more when tapering

...ment to say 8mg   .. isnt to bad .. still quite shaky .

No way how well are you doing?am sorry your feeling like that Fred it's unbelievable how it gets an hold of you...my counciler as basically told me it's all in my head!!!my anxiety is thru the roof an I feel so confused...am wondering now weather to reinstate?but I can't go on like this I just can't...I need a plan but it just seems to weaver all the time what a mess am in!!li hope you feel better soon Fred I know you will...we all get thru this we have too.X

Did you just stop the zopiclone Fred?an switch over to diazepam that night?

yep at the end of may the hospital did a calculation to erase zopiclone that day and i was given a maintainance dose ot 30 mg of diazepam that day then was at my GP within an hour of leaving hospital  to try work out a tapering plan , i am anxiety sufferer to paula compounded with severe severe insomnia but  i have to come off this medications for my health , once i have done this then look at safer alternatives and sleep help which has started.

i have had to suspend all my work for a while till i get stable again .

Anxiety can be physical thing - i know this from experience , but with help you can make it less of a problem and put you back in control .

How much zopiclone were you taking Fred?it sounds like you have come a really long way.do you think I should bite the bullet an ditch the zopiclone an go straight to diazepam tonight?i feel so sensitive am just frightened Am going to end up like this.X

Fred why are you going back up on your dosage. I can not make out why you are doing this.

most medical people will recommend that diazepam is used to taper and not zopiclone , as for when i used zopiclone i usually had 2  x 7.5mg at once occassionaly 3 at once , not touched zopiclone for  2 months or so now  since started diazepam taper .

....that was on top of 20 mg of diazepam , the most i ever took in one day was  20 mg of diazepam and 15 mg of zopiclone , or just 25mg of diazepam  and no zopiclone , the most i ever took was a 35mg combination- that was very very rare though , my average was about 100 to 125 mg  a week

now back on 5mg a day  or 35mg a week , the odd time that was my daily intake amount

Paula its not advisable to flush any medication down the toilet.

They should be taken to your local chemist/pharmacy to be disposed

of safely.

Or no I didn't know I feel gutted now
