Advice needed for stomach discomfort;

Hello everyone,

As I'm writing this, I'm experiencing pain in the upper right section of my stomach, the center of my stomach, as well as a horizontal pain across the center of my back. I also have this dull pain going from the center of my ribs up to about two inches below my collarbone. The pain seems to lessen a bit if I lay on my right side or on my stomach, with a heating pad under me. I can't sit up for more than an hour and that's pushing it. I can eat if I choose to but I haven't felt all that hungry. Sometimes the pain in the center of my stomach feels like when I'm hungry, but food doesn't seem to appeal to me right now. I'm able to use the bathroom a few times a day, but I never really kept track of that. All this started a few days ago and has been varying degrees of pain.

I've gone to the doctor about this and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with the suggestion that I lose weight and see what happens (a bit rude in my opinion). At the moment I'm 23, about 5"3 and 190 pounds. I have been losing weight slowly, but I really felt like the suggestion was just rushed without looking too much into it.

Starting maybe a year and a half ago, I started experiencing pains in the center of my stomach as well my left side. It felt like there was a pressure in the center. I felt full all the time and I couldn't really eat. I was able to pee regularly but I felt constipated. I have a very high pain tolerance but the first time this happened I could barely sit up straight. I really didn't think too much of all that because it went away after maybe four days and I just thought I had a stomach bug.

That occurred a few times over the past year. I've learned to just sort of go with it because I've found ways to dull the pain but now I'm experiencing the pain described at the beginning of my post. After speaking to the doctor, I began searching online to see if anyone had similar issues and I've also used symptom checkers with varying results. I originally believed the pains I had were due to IBS, but the current symptoms don't seem to be a thing on any of the IBS related pages I've read.

I apologize if this is the wrong section but I was hoping someone could shed some light on what these symptoms could really be.

    Sounds like IBS if your pain moves about and you have change of bowel habit. Pain can be felt just about anywhere; even your joints.  Go back to your doctor and ask for tests to rule out other things.

    I think you have a gallbladder problem. I get the same symptoms now and then, but a few years ago I had an attack and didn't know what it was so I went to the hospital and found out I had 3 small gallbladder stones. I would go to a different dr. and have him check for that. Good luck with everything.

    I would suggest you not to take heavy food. Also please do not do any kind of exercise. Take rest for some time and drink plenty of water. I would request to take warm water as it will help to reduce pain. Even after 3-4 hours you are not feeling comfortable then you must consult some other specialist.
