Advice needed please!!

Hi all,
I really need some advice. I have been on sertraline 50mg for 4 weeks tomorrow. I was feeling really good about the 2.5 week mark which lasted 5 days and then for the past 5 days I have been back to square 1. I have been feeling nauseous, anxious, trembly and my sleep has gotten bad again.
I spoke to my doctor today and she is suggesting upping to 100mg. I don't know if I should wait but out for a while longer on 50 or not because I have been reading on here that some people have blips around the 4 week mark? This is a long blip though.
Please help!!

Hi Amanda, I'm on sertaline been on it for 36days. I started on 25mg for 6days, 19days 50mg, 6days 75mg and 5days on 100mg so far. My dr wanted me to start on 50mg increasing to 100mg after a week but I was too scared. I'm really tired since upping my dose but haven't had any bad side effects as yet since upping the dose to 100mg xx

Anxiety but I have definitely been feeling depressed too! My doctor and I decided to wait until my next appointment in 1.5 weeks and if I haven't improved I will up the dose. I've heard 6-8 weeks too but it's tough to be patient!

Yes mine was anxiety to begin with but then I started to feel depressed too so I'm hoping it'll get me sorted. I was on sertaline a few years ago for anxiety and panic attacks and it really helped me, I can't remember the side effects being so bad tho! Anyway due to personal circumstances anxiety came back with depression so I'm hoping it'll work again, I'm scared that it won't and I'll be stuck like this, horrible feeling. Yes definitely do that, you might just need an increase to help xx

It's scary isn't it? I've never had problems with fear or my mood and then it just hit me out of the blue. I have a family history of mental illness so I guess maybe there's a genetic link. The feeling is terrible though. I hope the drugs kick in soon for both of us xxx

I am living in the U.K. at the moment and have a friend here who has been really supportive but unfortunately my family lives in NZ so I talk to them on the phone a lot but it's not the same as being near them. I'm due to go back for a visit in a couple of weeks.. just hope I'm feeling a bit better then! Where are you from?

That's good you have a supportive friend, yes I bet it's hard not having your family around you. It would be good to go for a visit. May help going too. I'm from uk too, live near Chester. Do you work or you not able too at the moment? Xxx

Yea I'm hoping it will help being there.. just got to get through the 30 odd hours of travel! I work. I actually find it good going to work because it keeps me relatively distracted. Today was much better than the weekend! Do you work too?
