Hi there - I am 63 year old female and take propranolol to regulate an irregular heart beat and help control high blood pressure. I don't know what your bp was before starting the propranolol, but I would get another opinion. Low blood pressure can make you dizzy and off balance, so I would not just let it go. You may be able to cut the dose down and still feel relief from anxiety, while allowing your bp to recover. If you take other bp meds , maybe you can reduce these to compensate for taking the propranolol. Please get another opinion.

hi nancy thanks for your reply i do not take any meds for my bp as i was only put on propranolol for relief of anxiety, my gp does not feel concerned with my bp he said it wasn't low enough to cause the woozy head he recons it could be the anxiousness what may be causeing it sometimes my bp is114/68 and thenother times its lower as i stated before i was just wondering what other ppls bp was on these meds

Your pulse is quite high considering you are on propranolol. Your blood pressure is on the lower end of normal, which if your not used to it, can cause a little dizziness. I would be more concerned with your pulse being in the 90s on propranalol. Do you get any chest pains, or breathlessness?
If you are feeling a bit dizzy lay down with your legs up or sit down and put your head between your knees until you feel better and drink some water. Be careful getting in and out of baths, I used to get very faint then, particularly when the bathwater was quite hot and it is easy to slip.

sorry I thought you meant your pulse was in the 90s resting, so don't worry if that is not the case. It sounds like you suffer with quite bad anxiety, have you ever had therapy to try and find ways of dealing with it? I suffer with anxiety too and I went to a psychologist who taught me different ways of controlling it. I still get it, but I can stop it escalating into panic attacks and very negative thoughts. Also have you tried yoga or tai chi? It can really help balance you both inside and out.
