Advice on anti-depressants and psychotic medicines

Posted , 4 users are following.

My sister who has been depressed and has been suffering from anxieties has been on these prescribed medicines for the past few months

Fluoxetine 20mg,

haloperidol  0.75mg,

benzhexol 2mg,

lorazepam 0.5mg

She lives in Fiji and ever since she has been taking these, she is suffering numerous side effects: tiredness, weakness, inability to sleep, severe drowsiness, urinary problems, falling over, and some others.

Her daughter is very concerned because from what she has observed, her mum seems to be much worse now than before starting these meds.

Has anyone been on these med and how does it affect you.

She asked the doctors if she could be weaned off but they are very reluctant to do that.

Please need some advice.

I just got off antipsyhotic meds and trying to get off antidepressant drugs all together for the side effects were doing major damage. I got bladder infections every month for X2 years which finally has stopped and severe dry eyes and bleperhitites which has no cure. Gained 35lbs recently and kidney problems. Many many side effects. I'm done with meds.....I used to have energy and laughed a lot, not since the meds.

If you are looking for non pharmaceutical drugs to treat anxiety you might look into CBD oil. There are numerous scientific studies in progress showing the effectiveness of this substance for anxiety and symptoms related to schizophrenia.

There are also numerous non-pharmaceutical treatments for depression including counseling, support groups and nutritional supplements such as omega-3 fatty acids that help promote good neurological function.
