Advice on first outbreak

Hi, I found out a couple of days ago that I have genital herpes. At the beginning I thought it was just an irritation but I panicked when I got the blisters. I could only go to the doctor 9 days after the itching started as I had my period. The doctor told me that I was probably on the way out so he didn't give me any meds and here I am 2 days after suffering like crazy. It burns and it's swollen. It hurts when I walk and Ican't go back to the doctor's because it's the weekend.
Can someone give me a reccomendation on what to do to calm the pain?
Today some scabs are starting to appear so does that means I'm close to heal? I hope so because this has been horrible

When you use the toilet, wipe with non scented flushable wipes instead of to cause its easier on the healing skin.
Hope some of that helps. Good luck

Are u in the uk? Call your doctors surgery and you will be put through to mastercall emergency docs. I'm talking from experience ! I woke up today with my THIRD outbreak in ONE month !!!!!! Not a happy bunny, in pain and very uncomfortable. Obviously, it being Saturday was not ideal. I called mastercall, spoke to a doctor half an hour later, he wrote me a prescription for aciclovir 400mg three times daily and I went and picked it up.
Do. Not. Suffer. In. Silence.
The sooner u start the antivirals the quicker it goes away.
Good luck

I am not taking aciclovir and I feel a tiny bit better. Also went to the pharmacy and bought vitamins, a cream and epsom salts. Had a bath and I think is helping at least it's not burning for now. It's quite dry after the bath, to the point that it's a but hard to walk but I guess that's a good thing
I should keep doing the same and hope for the best

Hello 14992 I was diagnosed with herpes a little over 5 years ago and to this day I still remember the first ob like it was yesterday. I thought it was a yeast infection because I get them very easily. It hurt so much that I went to the emergency room... They originally told me it was a razor burn and sent me on my way... Well two days later I was still in so much pain I went back and they looked at and without hesitation they told me it was herpes. Gave me valtrex and pain meds. The ob lasted for two weeks. I couldn't lay down, sit, underwear on or off everything irritated it... Almost a year after I met my husband and I informed him what I had and he accepted it and didn't care. But after we started to become sexually active he ended up with it and he still didn't and still doesn't care.. but for the first year of our relationship I had it multiple times a month... Not as bad as the first one I had but painful just the same. They put me on a one a day valtrex but almost 5 years later I right now currently have an ob and have no insurance and it is the first ob in about a year... The longer you have it the less the ob occur... Since I currently don't have insurance I've been using rubbing alcohol on it... It burns like hell at first but after the first initial burning it starts getting better doesn't hurt as much the more you use it the better it gets... So far out of everything I have used nothing helps like the rubbing alcohol does... I only notice the pain when I wipe after urinating... It reminds me I still have the ob other wise I forget I'm having one... I've read that L-lysine and d3 and vitamin b is supposed to help with the ob. I tried all of those and the only thing it did for me was give me diarrhea... The ob lasted the same two weeks with it... So I stopped taking them... Now don't take what I said as something you should do... Every person is different and every person reacts differently to medications... Something that works for me might not work for you... You should always consult a doctor before doing something that can affect you in any way and even if it's over the counter vitamins... You need to find something that works for you... I've never been told to use the rubbing alcohol I just tried it it not only speeds up the healing process but it dries out the blisters (for me). Like I said talk to your doctor before hand and hopefully you and your doctor can figure out what is best and works best for you... I wish you all the luck and speedy recovery possible...
