Hi there

I writing this in the hope that some one out there will be able to help me ,+hopefully reply.I have irrosive lichen planus of the mouth+vulva.

My mouth has cleared up for now+im having treatment done by injections

for my vulva, which is painful to say the least, but its nothing in comparisson to the pain im constantly in with the disease itself.

I read somewhere that there is alink between it and red foods,eg tomatoes strawberries, peppers etc.

Please can anyone of you out there tell me if there is a link+any other advice on this truly awful disease.MY dermatolagist is very good and understanding. I thought i was causing it to get so bad by getting stressed, however he told me and i quote (it the pain thats so bad thats causing you to get so stressed ) So to all you poor unfortunate people like me , remember, it is indeed the pain that causes the stress.

I was so bad i cant cry any more+iv told my dermatolagist (im all cried out, nothing left in me ) SO please some one if yu have ant info, Please share it with us+maybe we can all help each other

Do you use aqeuous cream as moisturiser in the vulva?? You can buy a tub of it in all chemists including Boots. This will help you a lot. You use this aqueous cream as a soap substitute to wash your whole body with and your vulva. NEVER use soap. Then use it to moisturise your body and your vulva as your vulva is very dry and needs to be moisturised. Use this aqueous cream every time after you use the toilet.

Always rinse the vulva after the toilet and then moisturise. Then use throughout the day when you feel dry. I feel very sorry for you as I think you are not being advised properly. Look after yourself and ask any questions you need.

Hi..i too suffer with vulvar lichen planus. Salt baths help alot i have these every night, and natural yoghurt on the area as it is more likely to get thrush when you have this. i also see a homeopath who is great..i will let u know the name of my tablets as i am waiting for more and cant remember the name. but it is definately worth going to see a homepath. I only use steroid cream when i get a huge flare up. I use eperderm cream that helps keep it moist, i use that about 4 times a day. Also calendula cream that u can purchase from boots which helps heel the area.

im just nervous that its going to get worse. was you initial attack the worse or did it carry on getting worse?

I hope my advice helps for u.

    Good luck.
