Hi im new here , i have severe depression, Anxiety , severe asthma also chronic acid reflux pain which i am awaiting further investigations as the meds dont always work . I cannot go out on my own and i cannot stand being around people i dont know or large groups . i mostly keep myself locked away in the house , i suffer from really bad nightmares and so i dont always get much sleep an i am always fealing down n fatigued. i get stressed and worry and panic most often for no reason and cant explain why ,most times its thinking about having to go out as i cannot go on public transport my dad takes me to appointments  thats about all i can manage, i have had thoughts of suicide . i have SH a few times starting back in 1999 but i was only diagnosed in 2012, i only went to the dr that day as i was attacked by a group and had to get treated for a perforated ear drum due to being attacked. i applied for PiP and was awarded 0 points back in 2013 so i left it, but after reading comments here i have applied again on 01/09/2016 and given more information .

my kids have to help me around the house with chores my daughter often cooks as i just cannot bring myself todo it .  since sending off the form ive been through so many emotions the past few days from worried , stressed, tearfull , worthlessness .

      Hi Sharon,

It would have been better for you to haven't started your own posted instead of adding onto a thread that's over 1 year old, this way it could have been missed.

PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's about how your conditions affect you daily. As you say you only have 3/4 attacks a year then it's unlikely that you'll qualify for PIP. With PIP if something affects you at least 50% of the time for things like, washing, cooking, dressing/undressing, budgeting, going out, meeting people, managing medication. PIP is awarded based on points scoring and you need to score at least 8 points for an award in either daily living and or mobility part. You'll also need evidence to support your claim.

Asthma is usually fairly well controlled if you're using the correct inhalers, maybe a visit to your GP is a good idea to check your medication.

You can also google PIP self test, links can't be posted here sorry. Once you google this you can complete it online as see what if anything you could score. Remember this is only a guide and doesn't guarentee an award.

      Hi  Denise

I apologise immediately as I am brand new and have hopped onto a thread but I didn't want to 'lose' you, I'm a bit of a dinosaur online.

Please may I ask your advice on the following -

      - I received an early review form (granted standard daily component a year ago) and have deteriorated plus my daughter cannot help much at all, being at uni and recently got a part-time job. My initial assessment was at home. This one was refused since I can get to doc/pain mgt clinic (as before) as now you have to be completely housebound to qualify.

Firstly, will the fact I (hopefully) manage to attend an assessment centre impede their decision to continue me qualifying?

Also, sorry, I am diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, generalised anxiety disorder, traits of EUBD, depression, suffer from panic attacks  and am 'anhedonic'.  So, how likely, she asks hopefully, am I likely to be granted more money? My doctor was pretty surprised that I just got what I did, albeit at that time I was a lot more capable in every way. And how many people will interview me? I never go out, I never have friends/family to visit so the thought of having to get somewhere I've never been, to see people I've never met and to have to mingle with people I don't know is making me feel short of breath right now and my appointment is next week.

Any advice/tips/dos or don'ts would be much appreciated.

Thank you for reading this xx
