Advice please.

Hi,
I have a very quick question and wonder if someone could advise. I had two cysts removed via laparoscopy in August and have my follow-up appointment next Tuesday. Any idea as to what I should expect at this appointment i.e. will I be examined or what is the general process? Apologies for sounding naiive but I am one of those people who very rarely go to hospitals.
Thanks.

funnily enough I just had my follow up with my consultant today following removal of dermoid cyst in sept.
It was literally 10 mins, he enquires how I had been since the op, checked my scars and talked through what was done and his findings. He also showed me pics of my normal ovary compared to the one with the cyst. He showed me before and after pics and confirmed no issues with a polyp he removed that was sent for biopsy.
He informed me I would be sent for a repeat scan as apparently the cyst can sometimes reform again after surgery.
I was discharged from seeing him again as long as there are no issues he needs to discuss after my scan.
Hope this answers your question

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my query.
Your consultant sounds extremely thorough. Even though mine was good, I got the distinct impression that he wasn't happy as I didn't want to get a mirena coil fitted.
Glad to hear that all is well with you.

I would imagine that they might check the scar to see its healed well and maybe ask if you have any problems. I had a full hysterectomy in June but never had a follow up appointment. I just got my results through the post and returned to the kind care of my GP.

Thanks for replying to my query. Please excuse my naivety. Prior to the laparoscopy I have no recollection of ever being in a hospital - I'm just a disgustingly healthy person..:-)
Glad to hear that you have recovered.
Take care,
