Advice please!

Hi, i started Sertraline 50mg a week ago today after changing from Citalopram. My GP increased my dose and I didn't react well - I had bad muscle twitching day and night and jerking as I was falling to sleep! My GP wasn't concerned as he said it's a common side effect of these medications but suggested I swap to Sertraline. In just a week I do feel like its working better on my anxiety, however I still have the muscle twitching not in the daytime anymore but when I'm relaxed at night. For the past two nights the jerking whilst falling asleep has been worse! Does this mean I'm not suited to these meds? If i stick it out will this go away? My only anxiety at the moment is about bedtime because its so frustrating being kept awake by these sensations!

Hi Aimee, I wouldn't worry about it too much, it will go away. I used to have it, every time I started to doze off it would happen and first thing in the morning but after about 2 or 3 weeks it stopped, you are doing well so stay strong in the knowledge that you are on your way to recovery

They didnt agree with me at all made anxiety worse and both that and a cit affected my hair. But if Sue says it improves and your anxiety improving worth sticking it out bit longer.
