Hey all,
Just wanted to know if anyone was on 30mg of escitalopram at all? I've been on 20mg for about 5 months now and it has helped bit I still have some lingering symptoms that are still annoyingly there.
I'm gonna make a doctors appointment tomorrow but just want to know people advice who are in the same boat as me really
Thanks for your time

Hi Cassandra,
I've been on 15mg for a while now but it's taken me 18months to work up to it due to side effects.
I'm supposed to be on 20mg but am just taking it easy re. Hoping the dose.
I too find it fabulous for some things but still have symptoms that it isn't helping g with...I feel odd most of the time and have had insomnia as well.
My doc put me on Valdoxan as well to help with sleep and anxiety...it does help I think but still dont feel right...not sure what to do either..

Hey guys,
Thanks fo your replies! Yes its definately a tricky one. The things we do to feel 'normal'. I've booked an appointment with the doctor but cant get in until next week so I'll just think about it and see what she says. I hope that you both feel better. The side effects can be a pain but I dont want to imagine how i would be if I didnt start them.

My doctor has told me she has several patients on 30 mg, and even one or two on 40 mg.
?I've been on escitalopram for 3 months now, and honestly I don't feel any different than when I first started. I've been going very slowly to increase doses though. I've been on 15 mg for almost 2 weeks now, and will probably be moving up to 20 mg soon to see if that does anything.
?It's a long process for many of us, for sure :-). Although supposedly escitalopram can kick in earlier than the other SSRIs, it seems more common for it to take longer.

Hey Kelly,
Thanks for your reply! I was on 40mg of citalopram a few years ago so I thought that because their 'cousins' that escitalopram should have the same doses!
Hope that you start feeling a bit better though! Yes sometimes they take longer to work but slow and steady wins the race!
Wishing you all the best with your recovery!
