Advice please re clitorus

hi good ladies, I need help. I've been using perhaps too much steroid on my clitoral hood? Is that possible? I had some itching (which I never have anywhere else) and it helped so I kept using it. Now I seem to have no clitoral hood to speak of and have exposed the tip of my clitorus I presume, it's pinkish and swollen. It stings so badly when I pee and I am very careful to wash well with spray and dry. It's just sore and stinging for two days and I am at wits end. Any advice and should I keep the Mometasone away from the area?
Just when I thought I had it sussed this happens. Am so disheartened, it's stopping me wanting to leave the house or do anything. Can I get my clitoral hood back to protect my poor little bud!

But to answer your first question, yes you can overuse a steroid cream. I can't speak to what the results would be, but I'm sure someone else here can.

Silly me didn't say in my post that I have Lichen Planus, there doesn't seem to be many of us at all, but we don't have the white plaque covering healthy skin. Rather we (well, anyway, I) have lesions and it only seems to effect the inner labia and clitorus, we are the same in that the initial symptom is disappearing parts and I have virtually no labia minora and now clitoral hood disappearing 😒 We also don't have itching as a rule, well, I don't, and anal area not involved.
I do use the coconut oil at the moment and have tried many things in the past year. I do use baking soda when urine burns like now.
I don't think your treatment will work for me, sadly, as I am just pretty raw and have several lesions which never heal. Some miraculous days, for some unknown reason, the area heals up for about one day and is just a sort of purplish shiny area and it feels just like a normal persons downstairs dept. but that has only happened twice in a year.
Very good luck with your experiment!

The clitoris area in my case was the most difficult area to bring back to 'functioning'. It probably will never return to what it was, but liveable at the moment. The area requires my constant attention yet.
Baking soda baths and rinses have been very beneficial to me. However, I have also discovered that with the beginning a a urethra infection it is good to use a little apple cider vinegar in my rinse bottle, instead of baking soda. I don't know how this would be for the clitoris irritation. A matter of trial and error I'm afraid.
What I have learned is that it is about a balance. You could measure your pH balance for instance and see where you're at. And then you can act accordingly.

It does seem as though things are changing all the time, some days ok then for no discernible reason everything hurts and or stings. My food rarely changes now but then there's a bit of stress and that sets it off I think.
But this soreness on clitorus is a new thing for me. I think it's called glans of clitorus and it is now exposed due to disappearing hood and it rubs when I walk etc. It's taught me a lesson about going a bit mad with the steroid!
Thanks Hanny for your imput.

I hope that the clitorus area can be healed, or will heal itself. It is a most difficult area for me too. Constant alert is required.
You can buy test strips at the pharmacy. The strips are dipped in urine and give a certain colour. The colour is shown on an included piece of paper with underneath a number.
Important with this also is your diet.

I had a friend who had a procedure to "free" her clitoris -- not an LS sufferer, but her architecture was such that it was covered up & couldn't climax with her husband all their married years. She finally did some research and found a doctor who specializes in this, and he said "you're 100% covered up". With a minor procedure, she is now normal down there and able to be satisfied with her partner.
I was just wondering if the steroid cream or perhaps this procedure could restore my clitoral area as well. It's been such a short time and my sex life was very satisfying just months ago! I'm 53, btw.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I think that I can contribute it to a combination of things I do: Clob, baking soda, coconut oil, hormone replacement and diet. And that diligently. One can never slack. I forgot to mention dilation, to keep all stretched.
