Hi i'm new to this. I'm looking to get a consultation at the Yorkshire Clinic anyone had a band fitted there?
Noticed no posts on here for 3 months. Like most peeps bit apprehensive but want to lose 5 stone. I excercise and generally eat well. Possibly too much wine he he..... but cannot shift the weight! I had an hysterectomy a year ago and have just piled on the weight, its getting me down, dont want to go anywhere, hate events photo's etc!!! Am going on holiday in August. should I wait until after the hol or go for it. all advice welcome.

fitted next Saturday and am going abroad 7 weeks after, my consultant say,s I should be fine, as long as I stick to all the recommendations given. One week into the "milk" diet all going well apart from a little constipation! I've lost 12lb so far so very pleased! Good luck

only you know when the time is right To have the Op.
Once I had the consultation I chose to have the Op asap, just after Christmas. You would need about 2 weeks to fully recover...I'm 53 and weighed over 20 stone, so if your younger and slimmer it may take less time to recover.
I'm happier than I have been in a long time and am planning a trip to the states to celebrate 30 years of marriage in December.
Good luck and once you have made that decision, dint look back. 😊😊😊😊

Thanks for the reply. I've booked my op 16th June. So miserable I just want my life back. For your info I'm 42,5 ft 2 and weigh 14.6lb. Really since my op I put 2 stone on in a year. Prior to that was around 12. However hammered the gym and went training twice a week with a trainer. Thats not right. My portions are healthy but too much!. anyway glad your happy, i'm hoping that this will work and I feel like you. I am worried with all the posts that state they have had the band and not lost any weight. How long do you think it wil take me really? tbh I will be happy initially to get back to 12 stone, my goal is 9.2. Any advise welcome.

I was feeling just the same as you before my Op. I hated looking at photos, didn't go out and felt Awful about myself. Once you've been through the pre Op and post Op diets things really do get better. I don't think about it to much now. I just eat when I'm hungry which isn't too often, and have High protein low fat meals. No snacking, water fills me up a little. Do what you were doing before. eat a healthy diet and go to the gym and the weight will fall off. I've only had my band since Jan this year and I'm already 3 stone lighter 😊😊😊. I am sure you will be fine. Let me know how things are going and I'm always available on here if you need to chat 😊😊

It's not a quick fix it's a change of lifestyle
I however was not as fit as you and I needed to lose a hell of a lot more weight than you
So I decided to go for The Gastric Bypass would suit me best
I've lost 5 stones so far so I'm halfway not easy but so very worth it
Wishing you well on your journey
