Advice re complex cyst

Posted , 4 users are following.

In Dec 2014, my husband took me to A & E with severe abdominal pain & vomiting, they gave me IV painkillers & sent me home saying it was possibly a kidney stone. My Gp referred me for an US, this took 6 wks, radiologist confirmed a 6cm complex cyst on right ovary & 2 smaller cysts on left, 2 week referral to see gynae consultant. Attended appt but unfortunately I couldn't understand a word he said. I left the appt feeling quite upset as I thought I would be reassured. I'm now awaiting an MRI, unsure why & I'm still unsure what they will eventually do, leave it or surgery.

    Hi Michelle

Your consultant should have a secretary. Ring them and ask them your questions, I have always found they are very good and will find out for you xx louise

Louise is right, I also found secretary very helpful and sympathetic. Your Gp should also have received a letter from consultant with details and then you can discuss with him/ her.

You can request another consultant if your not happy or your gp can advise you what they want to do since they forward all paperwork to them also.

Complex cyst will have to come out, these are usually solid rather than liquid filled. Keyhole usually offered depending on age, if they are on just one ovary etc.

Im recovering after very intrusive open surgery to remove dermoid cysts from both ovaries.

Hope all goes well and dont except poor treatment because its your body x
